Social Performance Management argues that microfinance institutions (MFIs) can more successfully achieve social goals if they can assess, monitor and manage progress towards them. The article:

  • Describes the social performance pathway;
  • Sets out eight specific rationales for managing social performance.

Managing Social Performance explains the conceptual framework and approach to the management of social performance that Imp-Act has developed in collaboration with global MFI partners and states that Imp-Act envisions a microfinance industry where SPM is a core element of the business of microfinance and is thus designed around the needs of the MFI and its stakeholders.

Interview with Mila Mercado-Bunker, President of Ahon sa Hirap, Inc (ASHI) in the Philippines describes ASHI's interest in social performance and its ways of managing social performance.
