With the issuance of this Green Bond, FACES will finance entrepreneurs engaged in sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery, as well as aquaculture related activities, contributing to the environmentally sustainable management of living natural resources and land use in Ecuador.

Designed as a global end-to-end policy and finance platform, the Hub will harness the power of financial innovation to ensure maximum leverage. 

The green projects that will be financed  belong to the renewable energy category, in particular solar kits.

The green lending program will direct much-needed financing to small-scale green projects across Africa, South and Southeast Asia through local MSME banks.

Through this course, bank staff learn about climate risks and opportunities, methods to assess climate risk and offer biodiversity or nature-based adaptation and mitigation solutions to climate proof their clients and reduce the bank’s exposure to climate risk. 

A senior loan of EUR 5 million will be on-lent by the bank to businesses that want to implement energy efficiency and resource efficiency measures, as well as small scale renewable energy projects. 

The project allows for financing of various loan purposes, for example purchase of housing from primary and secondary markets, renovation, and single-family house construction.

The overall program objective is to increase the productivity of the participating actors in the agricultural value chains particularly affected by climate change.

Greenlight Planet will use the proceeds of the Green Bond to finance supplier advances, inventory and customer lease structures for pay-as-you-go solar home systems.

Symbiotics has arranged with Samunnati Financial Intermediation & Services Private Limited (“Samunnati”) its first Green Bond whereby the proceeds of $4.6 million in local currency equivalent are fully allocated towards climate smart agriculture.
