How and Why to Personalize Financial Services for Women? March 14, 2024

On March 14, 2024 at 2pm GMT, join MicroSave for an inspiring webinar on developing customized financial solutions for women. Explore key insights on promoting female financial empowerment through customer-centric approaches in Benin, Mali and Togo. Also discuss key reasons and possible mechanisms used for creating impactful women-oriented offerings with a seasoned panel of experts. This webinar will be in French, but English translation is available for English speaking delegates.

In this webinar organized in collaboration between FinDev Portal and AfricaNenda, two experts will explore the results of the SIIPS 2023 report. Published in 2022 by AfricaNenda, this annual report presents an inventory of inclusive instant payment systems in Africa. Panelists will place particular emphasis on the financial inclusion of women in French-speaking Africa. They will discuss key trends in instant payment systems and their crucial role in financial inclusion. Participants will have the opportunity to understand the challenges specific to women, and to discover some inspiring initiatives in the region.

Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress Through Renewable Energy March 8, 2024

Investing in renewables and empowering women, not only as beneficiaries but also as active agents of change, will help mitigate poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation. IRENA’s IWD 2024 event in Johannesburg, South Africa, aims to collectively amplify the voices and contributions of women, paving the way for accelerated progress in renewable energy and beyond. The stories shared and insights gained during this event will contribute to a growing momentum toward a world where women play a central role in driving positive change. The event will also serve as the launch of IRENA’s new Gender Survey. Contributing to data gathering is the best way IRENA can support countries and societies toward a just energy transition.

Women and Microfinance: What is the Impact? March 7, 2024

Across the globe, women earn less, own less, and remain disproportionately vulnerable to poverty comparing to men. Women are more likely to be excluded from the financial mainstream and are less likely to have access to credit or training. MicroLoan Foundation, MicroLoan Zambia, 60 Decibels and Chemonics International have collaborated and will be hosting a webinar in celebration of International Women's Day 2024. The webinar will take a dive deep into the heart of microfinance, unraveling its significance, and spotlighting the ways microfinance institutions empower women.

Inclusive Policy to Accelerate Progress: Sharing Experiences in Driving Women’s Digital Financial Inclusion (in person and virtual) , March 13, 2024

Ahead of FinEquity Africa's 2024 Annual Convening, Women's Digital Financial Inclusion (WDFI) advocacy hub will host two side events in Ethiopia. The first session is an in-person cross cultural learning exchange that will share insights from the Ethiopian and Indonesian coalitions. In a separate hybrid session, participants will explore the multifaceted dimensions of women’s digital financial inclusion with particular focus on lessons learned from Indonesia and Ethiopia coalitions, challenges and opportunities and potential solutions that leverage collective insights.

This event is free and open to all WDFI Advocacy Hub Ethiopia, Indonesia, and Global coalition members.
