Agent Network Journeys: Country Deep Dives

Detailed country case studies on the agent network journey

These slide decks are supplement to the official CGAP Focus Note "Agent Network Journeys Toward the Last Mile: A Cross-Country Perspective". (January 2020).

Earlier CGAP research based on global evidence identified six universal principles for expanding rural agent networks at the last mile. However, the way in which these principles are applied seems to vary from country to country. To understand how policy makers, regulators, and providers have expanded rural agent networks and to validate principles identified, CGAP and its partners studied five financial markets: China, Colombia, India, Indonesia, and Kenya. Each of these countries has significantly expanded their rural agent networks despite very different contexts. Each of the attached slide decks provide a detailed analysis, which is the basis for the CGAP publication ‘Agent network journeys toward the last mile: A cross-country perspective’.
