Strengthening Financial Resilience in the Pacific

During the inception phase (2021-2022) of the Pacific Insurance and Climate Adaptation Program (PICAP), the Program developed affordable climate risk insurance products, targeted at the agriculture, fisheries, retail and tourism sectors with a specific focus on women, youth, migrants and micro, small, and medium enterprise segments.

To strengthen continuous learning and knowledge-sharing, this publication captures the lessons learned from implementing climate risk insurance solutions in the Pacific over the last two years which have been summarized under six thematic categories: partnerships, innovative insurance product development, distribution, outreach and capacity-building, managing for impact and sustainability and evidence-based programming.
