Roadmap to the Sustainable and Responsible Financial Inclusion of Forcibly Displaced Persons

Key policy recommendations for stakeholders involved in the financial inclusion of FDPs

This roadmap builds on the 2017 GPFI Policy Paper on the Financial Inclusion of Forcibly Displaced Persons (FDPs) – Priorities for G20 Action and provides key policy recommendations for stakeholders working on financial inclusion for FDPs: governments (particularly financial regulators and supervisors), private sector, humanitarian and development agencies, research organizations, and Standard Setting Bodies.

The paper focuses on six interconnected areas identified through a study on the main barriers to sustainable and responsible financial inclusion of FDPs:

  1. National strategies and regulation.
  2. Resiliency of financial infrastructure.
  3. Customer identification.
  4. Financial consumer and data protection.
  5. Bridging humanitarian aid and development.
  6. Economic participation.
