Financial Inclusion and Digital Finance in the Arab World: Current Status and Future Priorities

To explore the current state and level of financial inclusion and digital finance, this study applies a selective set of indicators designed by the Group of Twenty (G20) to holistically measure financial inclusion categories that are mostly endorsed by digital technologies. The study attempts to address three questions:

1. What is the current state of financial inclusion and digital finance in the Arab world?
2. What difference can digital technology make for Arab households?
3. What potential exists for using digital technology to reach financially excluded households in Arab countries?

Throughout the study, certain recommendations are proposed to better utilize digital finance for greater financial inclusion in Arab countries.
