Responsible Finance Market Overview: Uganda

This two-page brief provides a quick overview of institutions, regulations, challenges and outlook for the microfinance sector in Uganda, with a focus on responsible finance. It also describes the responsible finance agenda of Association of Microfinance Institutions in Uganda (AMFIU), which is an umbrella organization of MFIs in Uganda. Its mission is to enhance the sustainable delivery of inclusive microfinance services in Uganda. This paper shares learnings from the Responsible Finance through Local Leadership, a program implemented by the SEEP Network in Ghana, Uganda, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Benin, Côte d'Ivoire, and Mozambique.
