CGAP MENA Initiative Update – May 2010
This CGAP MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Initiative Update reports on the activities of CGAP’s regional microfinance industry partners during August 2009 - March 2010.The update presents a list of new CGAP publications and research related to microfinance in MENA. It provides information on events such as conferences and policy forums organized by CGAP and its partners in the region. The report presents regional updates from CGAP and its partners, as well as country updates from member countries such as Algeria, Bahrain, and Egypt .
The update also features an interview with Ulrike Lassmann, Director of KfW’s Damascus office, in which she shares her insights on the evolution of the regulatory environment in Syria and its impact on the microfinance sector in the country and the region.
