Mid-Term (12 Month) SKS Ultra Poor Process Evaluation

SKS's Ultra Poor model implemented in Andhra Pradesh
Download36 pages

CGAP and the Ford Foundation have been partnering since 2006 to explore how safety nets and livelihood training can be linked with financial services to create pathways for the poorest out of extreme poverty. The Swayam Krishi Sangam (SKS) Foundation's Ultra Poor Program (UPP) in rural Andra Pradesh is one of these pilots. The pilot has reached over 400 women who were too poor to qualify from SKS Microfinance's services. The goal of the program is to bring ultra poor beneficiaries to a point where they can use their existing savings and asset base to grow and diversify their capital base, and potentially access microfinance.
