22 pages
This Act was drafted to amend certain financial laws with the intention to promote the development of a sound and sustainable supply of financial services for households, smallholder farmers, small and micro-enterprises in urban and rural areas. This was to be done by providing them with safe and accessible savings and payments services, thereby providing them the opportunities to improve their businesses and their livelihoods by gaining access to adequate and timely credit services.
The amendments listed in this document pertain to the following three acts:
- Banking and Financial Institutions Act, 1991;
- The Bank of Tanzania Act, 1995;
- The Co-Operative Societies Act, 1991.
