This manual aims to equip trainers in the microfinance sector with the skills required to develop and deliver effective training programs.
The manual is meant to accompany the training of trainer program. It contains exercises which increase trainers awareness of their own training and learning styles, activities which they may use in their training sessions, and practical tips. The manual is organized into eight sessions. The sessions discuss the following areas:
- Understanding participants expectations;
- Learning and training styles and the experiential learning model;
- Framework for effective instructional design;
- Elements of training needs assessment including job analysis and setting training goals;
- Matching training methods to objectives;
- Developing material;
- Effective training delivery;
- Levels and stages of evaluation, and the training evaluation matrix.
