Miranda Beshara

Miranda Beshara joined CGAP in 2012 and has been the Arabic FinDev Gateway Editor since 2014. She is in charge of content development and promotion, knowledge and outreach partnership management with key institutions, and the organization of online peer learning webinars for financial inclusion practitioners and policymakers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.

Miranda has over 15 years of experience in international development working worldwide with a range of institutions on microfinance, institutional development, child protection and women's empowerment. She was among the first management team of Sanabel, Microfinance Network for Arab Countries, responsible for the capacity building program of financial service providers across the Arab region. Miranda is also a Gender Consultant with Women's World Banking, providing gender training and technical assistance to partner institutions. She is a Certified Microfinance Expert from the Frankfurt School for Finance and Management and a Trainer on the SPTF-UNHCR Global Guidelines for the Financial Inclusion of Refugees.

Miranda holds an MA in Economic and Social Development from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs (GSPIA), University of Pittsburgh, USA, and a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo, Egypt. She is fluent in Arabic (native), English, and French. When not sourcing and editing content for the Arabic Gateway, Miranda is busy with her children's book project.
