Rural Development Funding by the Diaspora
Have impact in their home countries with a mix of social and financial returns: this is what African diasporas largely call for, but in a different way according to the generation they belong to or their ability to take financial risks. This webinar will explore different innovative funding models for diasporas who wish to contribute to economic development opportunities there. In particular, the panel will focus on models which impact rural areas, highly affected by a large urban and foreign migration, as well as agricultural value chains.
This IFAD-moderated virtual event takes place within the framework of the Diaspora Innovation Days in Africa (DIDA) 2021, a virtual gathering hosted by ADYFE (African Diaspora Youth Forum Europe), meant to enhance technology transfer from the diaspora towards Africa, and to create a space for providing entrepreneurs with valuable technological content and diaspora-based innovations.
