Research Methods to Identify COVID-Related Financial Crimes

In many developing countries poor people who are already struggling with a lack of income due to the health impact of the coronavirus pandemic have been targeted by online fraudsters. A concerted effort by the public and private sectors is needed to protect customers through educational efforts and high visibility law enforcement actions. IPA will share ongoing efforts to identify these scams via surveys, social media analysis, and other research tools.
