Lebanon's Multiple Crises: Impact on the Microfinance Sector

Political crisis, economic crisis, social crisis, moral crisis... Lebanon seems to sink deeper and deeper into a never-ending crisis, extremely complex and quite unique in the world. The impact of such crisis can be seen at all the level of the society and of course affect quite strongly microfinance clients, their families, and the sustainability of microfinance institutions.

How have microfinance clients been impacted? How have microfinance institutions tried to answer those crises and how have they been directly affected? What has been the response of the investors/lenders of the microfinance institutions, especially social ones? Will they keep supporting the sector in such context?

This event will try to answer those questions. After a broad presentation of the situation,  the speakers from CGAP, Al Majmoua and Inpulse will share their views on the impact on their respective activities, their clients and the way investors have dealt with it. They will discuss what lessons have already been learned, what the needs of the sector and the current perspectives are.
