Inclusive Fintechs in the Arab World: An Opportunity Worth Billions
In recent research, CGAP has identified no fewer than 400 fintech solutions across the Arab world. With nearly half of these solutions having financial inclusion potential, expanding access to only a fraction of the untapped market presents a multi-billion-dollar revenue opportunity. To capture this value and deepen financial inclusion, funders and support organizations have an important role to play by fueling fintech growth and helping innovators address the region’s specific challenges. These include the world’s largest financial inclusion gender gap and a $123 billion shortfall in financing for the small businesses that power the region’s economies.
In this webinar, CGAP researchers will share key findings from its two-year study of fintechs in the Arab world. Participants will learn about:
- The types of fintech solutions emerging in the region.
- The factors that influence their ability to achieve development impacts.
- The opportunities for funders and support organizations in scaling fintech operations.
Participants will also be invited to engage in a discussion about the most important ways to increase investments while fostering financial inclusion.
Speakers:
- Nadine Chehade | CGAP's Regional Representative in the Arab World
- Alexander (Sasha) Reviakin | CGAP Consultant
- Johnny Matta | CGAP Consultant
The event is designed primarily for funders, investors, and support organizations with active portfolios or stakes in fintechs or financial inclusion. Please feel free to forward this invitation to others who may be interested in participating.
