Consumer Protection for Digital Financial Services - CEMCWG and DFSWG Technical Webinar
The Digital Financial Services Working Group (DFSWG) and the Consumer Empowerment and Market Conduct Working Group (CEMCWG) have acknowledged the critical need to steer members to adapt their existing consumer protection regulations and interventions to reflect the deepening role of DFS. This led to its joint development of a policy model on Consumer Protection for Digital Financial Services (CP4DFS). It proposes five key policy guidance principles (policy and regulatory environment, product development and service delivery, consumer awareness, complaint, and redress, supervision and enforcement, cross-cutting issues) with relevant actionable recommendations for regulators in the development of a DFS-responsive consumer protection regulatory framework. This webinar facilitates the adoption/implementation of the objectives of the policy model by the members at the institutional level.
