This note expresses Freedom from Hunger,s concern about the recent government takeover of the governance of PADME, one of its partner MFIs in Benin. The note also expresses Freedom from Hunger,s support to PADME and states that:
  • Freedom from Hunger has been working with PADME since 2006, developing innovative services that combine microfinance with health protection;
  • PADME has implemented innovations that have made a difference in the lives of thousands of people in Benin;
  • PADME owes its success to the strong commitment and aptitude of its leadership, both its board of directors and its management;
  • PADME is open to answering questions about its institutional performance;
  • Freedom from Hunger is prepared to collaborate with key stakeholders to help expedite PADME,s return to its status as an independent MFI;
  • Freedom from Hunger is committed to working in Benin and in partnership with PADME for the sake of thousands of poor people who are benefiting from PADME,s integrated services.
