Download 3 pages

This short note is comprised of brief summaries of five practitioner guides related to the effective management of Credit with Education:

  • Supervision,
  • Internal controls,
  • Adapting the monitoring and reporting system,
  • Incentive systems,
  • Integration.

Each guide is broken into three sections:

  • A manual with practical tools for a MFI seeking to enhance its current system;
  • Background information, including a case study;
  • A technical assistance guide through a systematic process.

Supervision: focuses primarily on the support and monitoring of Credit with Education field agents, who are directly responsible for the delivery of the service and ultimate performance of the portfolio. Internal Controls: supports institutions in clarifying and strengthening their existing internal controls practices with regard to Credit with Education. Adapting the monitoring and reporting system:

  • Begins by helping articulate why change to the institution's existing monitoring and reporting system may be necessary,
  • Proceeds to lead the institution through a series of steps toward designing an efficient and effective system.

Incentive systems: helps institutions implement incentive pay mechanisms initially for field agent staff, and which may subsequently be implemented for other staff positions.Integration: provides implementing organizations with an operational tool that will permit them to launch or improve the process of integrating Credit with Education.
