This paper presents a conceptual landscape of the topic of Food Security and Nutrition, explores the role that the inclusive finance sector can play in reducing food insecurity.

e-MFP and the GICSF-AG are delighted to launch The Green Map - Addressing Climate Change via An Open Resource for Green Inclusive Finance Projects & Practices.

On the 19 and 20 September 2023, the Selection Committee for the European Microfinance Award 2023 (EMA2023) on “Inclusive Finance for Food Security & Nutrition” selected the three finalists who will go on to compete for the EUR 100,000 prize.

The EMW 2023 line-up is organized across several thematic streams, such as digitization, social performance, funding/investment – and this year there also will be streams on refugee finance, agri-finance, and a particular emphasis on green and climate-smart finance, and “Food Security & Nutrition” – the topic of the European Microfinance Award 2023.

e-MFP is excited to present the analysis of Green Inclusive Finance trends over the past decade in a publication "State of the Art of Green Inclusive Finance 2011-2019."

This report, which is the result of a collaborative effort with the Green Inclusive and Climate Smart Finance Action Group, offers a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of green inclusive finance.

The 2023 survey adds new topic and priority areas to evaluate, from climate change adaptation/mitigation, to institutional change management, to artificial intelligence, food security and nutrition – and beyond.

This publication focuses on understanding the relationship between financial education and financial health and how these can ultimately contribute to improve the lives of low-income populations.
