Colombia is looking to minimize the use of cash in the country and boost the financial inclusion of its most vulnerable citizens.

The investment will allow the bank to strengthen its lending operations for women-owned micro, small, and medium enterprises in the underserved regions of the country.

The funds will allow Banco D-Miro to continue the expansion of its microcredit lending activities in Ecuador.

The investment will help promote greater market competitiveness by bolstering competition in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) financing market through a capital market solution.

The project aims to widen access to finance for the purchase of these vehicles and help strengthen the country's climate finance market, mitigating climate impact and supporting economic recovery in the country.

With the issuance of this Green Bond, FACES will finance entrepreneurs engaged in sustainable agriculture, animal husbandry and fishery, as well as aquaculture related activities, contributing to the environmentally sustainable management of living natural resources and land use in Ecuador.

The commitments are part of Mastercard’s engagement, as a founding member, in the Partnership for Central America.

The loan will increase access to finance for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Paraguay, which in turn will have a positive impact on job creation and the economic recovery from the effects caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.

Finamiga plans to use the wholesale loan to fund 4,000 retail agricultural loans and 1,000 motorcycle loans.

This adherence is supported by the Foundation’s commitment to contribute to the digital inclusion of low-income populations in Latin America.
