Bangladesh: Govt Cash Gift for Corona-Affected Family Disbursed Through Rupali Bank SureCash

The government of Bangladesh is providing direct cash assistance to 5 million Corona-affected families. Recently Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina announced this Eid gift of BDT 2,500 (about $30) per family via mobile banking to each family, through a video conference from Ganabhaban.
Under this program, Rupali Bank SureCash is directly disbursing 2 billion Bangladeshi Taka (about $23,553,360) to the mobile account among 800,000 beneficiaries. Recipients can withdraw the money at SureCash agent points around the country free of charge.
