Analyst

MFR is seeking an Analyst with prior exposure to inclusive finance or related fields. The Analyst will join a dynamic and international team of Inclusive Finance specialists based in the Milan Head Office, in Italy. They will primarily work on microfinance rating and certification assignments, focusing on Europe, the Middle East, North African countries and Africa.

The Analyst will engage in the entire process, both on and off-site, from preliminary desk analysis to field visit and report drafting. Comprehensive training will be provided internally and through missions alongside senior analysts.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Participate in 10-12 assignments (ratings, assessments, certifications) annually.
• Actively engage in the rating and assessment process, maintaining direct contact with clients on and off-site.
• Conduct technical and financial analysis of performance and risk indicators of financial institutions, drafting and finalizing reports, under the supervision of the team leader.
• Manage the technical relationship with MFR’s clients.

Qualifications:

• Excellent command of English and French (Full professional proficiency).
• Professional degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, or related subjects.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience (e.g. microfinance, rating, audit, finance, banking, financial analysis).
• Strong analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Interest in the inclusive finance sector.
• Effective team working skills.
• String time-management and multitasking abilities.
• Willingness and capacity to work independently and proactively.
• Availability to travel frequently.

This position offers remote flexibility for candidates residing in European/African countries or can be based in Milan, Italy.
